Personal Banking — Other Services

Glens Falls National offers a variety of products and services created with you in mind, to meet your financial needs and work with you. We would be happy to provide you with additional information on any of our services and help you find the best product to serve your needs. Please call any of our 28 offices or 793-4121 or contact us through our website.

Visa® Check Card — Use your Visa Check Card to make purchases just as you would with a credit card. Your Visa Check Card debits your checking account directly for the amount of your purchase. Purchases are listed on your monthly checking account statement, along with your regular account activity. Quick, convenient, safe and hassle free. Not a credit card or an ATM card but accepted everywhere Visa is. No interest to pay and you select your own personal identification number (PIN).

On-Call Banking— Banking at your fingertips with our On-Call Telephone Banking Service. Quick and easy to use and accessible any time day or night. As always, we are happy to serve you in person, but when you can’t make it to the bank, or are not near a computer, please use our On-Call Banking Service. Locally, 793-1080 or Long Distance 1-800-390-4798.

Internet Banking with Bill Payment Option — Glens Falls National’s Internet Banking and Bill Pay Service provides you with a simple to use, versatile and economical way to do your banking from home, office or anywhere, 24 hours a day. Pay bills without writing checks or paying for postage, send payments anywhere in the U.S., or schedule payments for the term of your loan, send secure e-mail to the bank, or set account balance alerts. These are only some of the features of Internet Banking, contact the branch nearest you or apply through the internet banking link.

Easy Switch Kit— Use our Easy Switch Kit to make it easy to move your checking account, switch your payments or set up Direct Deposit and Bill-Pay from another financial institution. For your convenience, please print and complete the Easy Switch Kit Form and bring it to any Glens Falls National Office.

Safe Deposit Boxes— It is a convenient place to store important items that would be difficult or impossible to replace. The safe deposit box also offers privacy (only you know what is inside) and security. Although many people like to keep valuables close by in a closet, safe or file cabinet at home or in the office, these places probably are not as resistant to fire, water or theft.

F.D.I.C. Insurance — Savings, checking and other deposit accounts, when combined, are generally insured to $250,000 per depositor in each bank or thrift the FDIC insures. (On October 3, 2008, FDIC deposit insurance temporarily increased from $100,000 to $250,000 per depositor through December 31, 2013.) Deposits held in different categories of ownership – such as single or joint accounts – may be separately insured. Also, the FDIC generally provides separate coverage for retirement accounts, such as individual retirement accounts (IRAs) and Keoghs, insured up to $250,000. The FDIC insures deposits only. It does not insure securities, mutual funds or similar types of investments that banks and thrift institutions may offer.
